About Hotel

Akello Hotel Main is located in Soroti Town, the headquarters of Soroti district and the center of eastern Uganda. We have easy access to many nearby local attractions, the district business hub, Soroti Airport and Flying School, Soroti Hospital, the main transport hub and the eastern freeway, all of which are less than half an hour’s drive from the Hotel. All of these come with all round comfort in the areas of accommodation, entertainment, mobile connectivity, ergonomic workspaces and refreshments onsite, for you to order while relaxing at your leisure.

Akello Hotel Main is an iconic part of Soroti town’s ecosystem that was opened in the early 2010s. It was opened to be a versatile hospitality entity that caters for diverse activities, and living up to its intent since inception. The hotel attracts diverse guests, from leisure travellers, to business and conference delegates, various social event audiences including weddings. We are a socially responsible entity and we are passionate about supporting the local labour market, local, regional and national supplier market. We also support local institutions by providing our facilities for training for hospitality students from nearby colleges.

Cancellation Policy

For a cancellation within 48hours on the part of the client(s) the following shall apply:

For Workshop Bookings :

The costs of all fresh foods purchased will be invoiced according to agreed terms at the time of engagement or given LPO.

  • 1. Refreshments/hall hire/Public address system will be free of charge
  • 2. For accommodation more than 2days the first day will be charged in full agreed rates, the rest of the days will be cancelled free of charge.
  • 3. Accommodation for one day will be charged in full as per the agreed rate.
  • 4. Cancellations made three days prior to the activity will be free of charge.
For Individual Bookings :


  • 1. For cancellations made within 48hours of the booked date, the cost of accommodation will be charged in full as per rack rates or agreed terms at the time of engagement.
  • 2. Cancellations made three days prior to the booked date / activity will be free of charge.

In all of the above scenarios, a cancellation on our part will be free of charge for the client, and any payments advanced will be refunded in full.

You can also come directly to Akello Hotel and make a booking.
Reservations at Akello Hotels can be made from any country as long as you follow the proper procedures.
We have no restrictions on the number of rooms one can reserve with us. You can book any number of rooms you require.
There is no restriction on the check-in time at Akello Hotel Main. One can come in any time and check-in. Our standard check-out time is 10:30 AM
Payments for accommodation at the hotel or hire of facilities can be made in cash, Card (Visa card, Master Card and other acceptable cards) or by direct deposit into our bank account, via EFT or via PayPal. Only in exceptional cases is Mobile money payment considered.
If you book a room at Akello Hotel, we have an obligation to reserve your room unless you cancel your reservation. Our procedural callback system helps to confirm bookings at the hotel. We never cancel a booking unless the client requests it.
The guest will be required to present a valid identification document (national ID for local guests or passport for international guests) at check-in. We shall also confirm with the third party that made the reservation.
One of our main goals is to contribute to job creation in Soroti. Many of our employees come from the area and surrounding regions. We also source many of our resources and supplies from the suppliers in the area.
We put that into consideration when Akello Hotel was set up, and to provide the clients with the utmost comfort and convenience, we have a back-up standby generator with capacity to run for over 24 hours in the event of power outages. In addition to the generator power, we also have standby solar systems in place.
