Lake Bisina
Lake Bisina is a freshwater lake in eastern Uganda. It is also known as Lake Salisbury. It is connected upstream via a wetland to Lake Opeta and drains into Lake Kyoga. It is most renowned for mud-fishing activities. Both lakes have potential for sport fishing and boat racing. Lake Bisina is one of Uganda's 33 Important Bird Areas and since 2006 it has been a Ramsar-listed wetland of international importance. Lake Bisina also boasts a daily ferry service that crosses to Katakwi district; it is a large transport vessel that carries many people including cars. You can hop onto the ferry to go and enjoy the flurry of local market activities and experience how the local economy works on some of these markets.
